Mahindra XUV700 outsold the Scorpio, Thar, Alturas G4 and Marazzo

Total sales for Mahindra, including PV, CV, and exports, were 41,908 units. Only domestic sales were considered in the prior month, and the brand sold 20,034 units, up over 10% from the 18,317 units sold in October 2020.

Mahindra, which came in fourth place after Maruti, Hyundai, and Tata Motors, also had a 55.7 percent increase in volume sales over the previous month, with 12,863 units sold in September 2021. The lack of microchips continues to wreak havoc on India's automakers' production plans, and the problem isn't anticipated to go away anytime soon.

Mahindra Bolero Tops Sales Charts Oct 2021

The Bolero 7-seater small SUV from Mahindra was in high demand. Sales were 6,375 units in October 2021, down 16.3 percent from 7,624 units sold in October 2020. The Mahindra Bolero was also ranked No. 14 on the list of India's best-selling cars in the previous month.


The second-placed Mahindra XUV300 saw a YoY decrease of 13.9 percent, with 4,203 units sold in October 2020 compared to 4,882 in October 2020. The Mahindra XUV300 facelift is slated to debut next year. It will have updated exteriors and interiors. The launch is expected to take place around Diwali 2022.

In less than two weeks after its launch, Mahindra claimed 65,000 bookings for the XUV700. The company has begun shipping, and 3,407 units have been sold in the last month. Only petrol variants of Mahindra XUV700 were delivered during this period; diesel variant deliveries will begin later this month.

The first 25,000 bookings were made on October 7, the day the order books were opened, and the next 25,000 units of Mahindra XUV700 were booked in just two hours on October 8. The Mahindra XUV700 is available in four trim levels: MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7, with over 20 trim options and starting costs of Rs 12.49 lakh.


The Mahindra Scorpio came in fourth place with 3,304 units sold last month, down 16.5 percent from 3,961 units sold in October 2020. The Mahindra Scorpio 2022 is also being tested, and the SUV is expected to join the market next year.

Last month, Mahindra Thar, which was just added to the company's roster, had sales of 2,692 units. The company has over 75,000 bookings, with wait times ranging from two months to almost a year, depending on the version. Mahindra is also working on a five-door Thar that will be released in 2023.

Declining Sales of Alturas G4 & Marazzo

In terms of sales, the Mahindra Alturas G4 and Marazzo have received little notice. In the previous month, demand fell by 42 percent and 98.3 percent, respectively, to barely 40 and 12 units. In October 2020, 69 units of the Mahindra Alturas G4 and 737 units of the Mahindra Marazzo were sold.


Verito sales grew from one unit sold in October 2020 to four units sold in the previous month, while Mahindra KUV100 sales decreased from 35 units sold in October 2020 to just one unit.
