Mahindra increases prices of XUV700, Scorpio, Thar by up to Rs 81,000

Several Mahindra products, including the XUV700 SUV, the Thar, and the Scorpio SUV, will see price increases beginning in January 2022.
Prices have been raised by Mahindra at the beginning of the new year, as has been the case with the majority of manufacturers, most likely in response to growing operational and input expenses.
- The Mahindra XUV700 Price has been increased by up to Rs 81,000.
- The Thar price has been increased by Rs 39,000-45,000.
- Maximum price increases of Rs 53,000 were seen in the Scorpio Lineup.
Price increase for the Mahindra XUV700
Ahead of the Mahindra XUV700's launch in 2021, it was one of the most anticipated models, and the automaker startled many with an ambitious base price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
However, as a result of the high demand for the Mahindra XUV700, the carmaker increased the price of the XUV700 for the first time in October 2021. As a result, this is the SUV's second price increase in as many months.
The Mahindra XUV700 petrol is driven by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Mahindra mStallion turbo-petrol engine that produces 200 horsepower and 380 Newton-meters of torque.
The Mahindra XUV700 is equipped with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the entry-level MX model is only offered with a manual transmission as standard.
Mahindra has increased the costs of the XUV700 in the price bracket of Rs 46,000 to Rs 75,000 for the petrol-powered models.

The Mahindra XUV700 MX MT 5-seater variation will experience the smallest price increase this month, while the Mahindra XUV700 AX7 AT Luxury 7-seater model will see the most price increase.
The Mahindra XUV700 Diesel is driven by a 2.2-liter, 4 cylinders mHawk turbocharged engine that is available in two different tuning options: standard and high performance.
The lesser-powered unit (allotted for the base-level MX variant) generates 155 horsepower and 360 Newton meters of torque, while the higher-powered unit in the Mahindra XUV700 AX variants generates 185 horsepower and 420 Newton meters of torque (450Nm with an automatic gearbox).
As a new feat for the Mahindra, the XUV700's diesel engine is equipped with an all-wheel-drive system that features four distinct drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom, & Custom that have variable performance and steering response.
Both Mahindra XUV700 engines are available with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions, with the exception of the lower-spec diesel, which is only offered with a manual transmission.
Because of the price increase, the Mahindra XUV700 diesel price is up to Rs 81,000 more than it did previously. The increased price for the Mahindra XUV700 diesel runs between Rs 48,000 and Rs 81,000, depending on the region.
The base XUV700 MX MT 5-seater has seen the most significant price increase, while the top model XUV700 AX7 AT AWD Luxury 7-seater has seen the most significant price increase.
Price increase for Mahindra Thar

Unlike the first-generation Mahindra Thar, which was only available with a diesel engine and manual transmission, the second-generation Mahindra Thar was offered with a petrol engine & automated transmission for the first time.
The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre'mStallion' unit that produces 152 horsepower and 320 Newton-meters of torque. The Mahindra Thar is available with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
A part-time four-wheel-drive system, as well as a manual-shift transfer case, are included with both the petrol and diesel versions of the Ford Escape.

In terms of price increases, The Mahindra Thar petrol model's prices are now Rs 44,000 more expensive than they were previously. The price of base-level Mahindra Thar AX (O) MT with Convertible Top has increased by Rs 39,000, while the price of the top-spec Mahindra Thar LX AT Hardtop has increased by Rs 44,000.
The new Mahindra Thar's diesel engine, meanwhile, is a 2.2-liter mHawk unit with 132 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. It is offered with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an Aisin 6-speed automatic torque converter transmission.
The price of Mahindra Thar diesel has been raised by Rs 39,000 to Rs 45,000, depending on the market. The least expensive Thar AX (O) MT Convertible top variation will have the smallest price increase, while the most expensive Thar AX (O) MT Hardtop will see the largest price increase.
Price increase for the Mahindra Scorpio

The current-generation Mahindra Scorpio will be phased out before the end of the year and replaced by a next-generation model. Due to the popularity of the present Mahindra Scorpio model, it would be sold along with an all-new model, which is a novel development.
Specifically, only the Mahindra Scorpio S3+ trim level receives the Scorpio's turbo-diesel engine, which produces 120 horsepower and 280 Newton-meters of torque. The Mahindra Scorpio is only available with a 5-speed manual transmission in the 2.2-liter mHawk four-cylinder configuration.

The same Scorpio engine produces 140 horsepower and 320 Newton-meters of torque in the higher-end S5, S7, S9, and S11 grades, and it is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Mahindra has increased the price of the Scorpio from Rs 41,000 to Rs 53,000, depending on the market.
Just like it was the scenario with the XUV700 and Thar, the entry-level Scorpio S3+ receives the smallest price increase, while the top-of-the-line S11 model has the most price increase.
